To understand the types of plastic available their difference that we use in our daily life and to figure out what can be recycled .
▪polyethylene tereph thalate(PETE )
It is a tough plastic which discolours if you bend it ,and one of the most commonly recycled plastice,made of clear bottles bubble on the bottom ,food trust,clear green ,black etc.
▪high density polyethylene (HDPE).
It is a thick touch plastic which will spring back if bent caps can usually be flexed and very commonly recycled ,made of milk bottles all sizes ,bleach types bottles, washing machine liquids,and some bottles caps .
▪ polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
It is more fragile and will crack or star bent if stressed ,bottles make a crinkle sound if squeezed,rarely recycled ,made of food trays piping ,wire, insulation , can be found i local area .
▪low density polyethylene (LDPE).
It can be very thin to thick but usually flexible and easily torn can be found in supermarket most like dispose of material contaminated with food ,made of plastic bags ,plastic wrapping ,cling films .
▪ polypropylene (PP).
It will shatter into stripes if compressed caps will usually be to hard to flex not generally recycled,made of butter and margarine tubes,clear fresh soup containers,some bottles caps ,glass and jar caps .
▪polytyrne or Styrofoam (PS).
It will tear of pull apart depending on the form not generally recycled ,made of yoghurt pots ,insulated disposable ,caps ,some trays ,parcel packaging.
▪ - Miscellaneous Plastics
The remaining plastics include: polycarbonate, polylactide, acrylic, acrylonitrile butadiene, styrene, fiberglass, and nylon. Of course, there are many differences in the plastics classified as miscellaneous by recycling programs.
